In 2025 we visited both Sicily and Malta on a cruise holiday and we enjoyed it so much, we decided to plan a tour on land, rather than on the high seas. Our tour offers a wealth of experiences, from the ever erupting Mount Etna, to the historic cities of Syracusa and Palermo, from the beaches of Cefalu to the Greek and Roman archaelogical site at Agrigento. We finish off with five nights in Malta, in a luxury hotel overlooking the sea.
Our flight to Palermo departs Dublin in the evening returning to either Dublin or Belfast, whichever you choose. Full flights and hotel details below.

Free day to relax. Perhaps take a coach into Palermo or a hike into the mountains close by, or a wander along the coastal paths. You could even try out your theatrical skill at the amphitheatre!

Full-day excursion by coach to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento. This is one of the best preserved archaeological sites in the whole world. No trip to Sicily is complete without it. (if you’d prefer another day of relaxation by the pool, no problem! It’s your holiday.

Today we transfer to the east of the island and the gorgeous resort of Giardini Naxos, under the towering Mt. Etna. En-route, we will stop for a few hours in the famous sea-side resort of Cefalu. Lunch with regional specialities is included, along with a guided walking tour (optional).

Let’s take a trip down the coast to Siracusa, and the island city of Ortigia, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour and some free time. We’ll be sampling some “Cannolo Therapy”, a tasty way to end the afternoon before returning to the hotel. We are sure you’ll just love this tour.

Did someone say “Mount Etna”?. Of course they did. This is the most amazing tour by coach to the higher reaches of this amazing volcano. Smell the sulphur in the air, experience the winds that usually whirl around the area and enjoy spectacular views. Stop along the Etna wine road for a tasting of all the regional excellences at a local farmhouse: wine, honey, pistachios, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, and more.
We’ll return to the coast and visit the magical town of Taormina, which is everyone’s idyllic Sicilian experience.

Guided tour of Noto, a Baroque masterpiece in the southeast of the island, where golden-hued palaces and elegant churches line the streets. Afternoon visit to Modica, famed for its unique chocolate-making tradition inspired by the ancient Aztec method, with a tasting at a local chocolatier.

Today, we are leaving the itinerary quite loose, as we will be travelling by ferry from Pozzallo to the island of Malta. The ferry journey is only a couple of hours, after which we’ll be met for our transfer by coach to our hotel in Melllieha. The 4* Seaview Hotel at St Pawls Bay is an adults-only, luxury accommodation featuring splendid rooms. Afternoon free to relax. (We do not have 2027 ferry timetable yet)
