Kiev is the Hidden Jewel of Eastern Europe and fast becoming the coolest Capital city in Europe. Geographically, Kiev (Kyiv – it’s pronounced kyee-if) sits almost at the centre of Europe, just over three hours flight time from Dublin. It feels like an entirely different world and is the most beautiful city of all the post – soviet countries. It is a city of everything you least expect. The so called “Mother of all Slavic cities”, steeped in history and rich in culture.
Our visit will include two or three walking tours, each lasting around two - three hours and taking in the sights of Kiev through the ages. We will also travel on the funicular to get great views of the city and the River Dnieper below and we will enjoy a short panorama cruise.

We are delighted to offer the 35 room boutique Hotel Staro, located in the heart of one of the main down-town districts of Kiev. It is close to restaurants, bars, night-life, sights and the transport from here to get around the city is excellent. The design of the hotel is distinctly “Art-Nouveau” and the theme continues through to the bedrooms and public areas. There is a fine restaurant offering Ukrainian and European dishes and we will eat here on two of the evenings and at two local restaurants on the other nights. The restaurant also offers excellent teas, coffees and pastries or desserts during the day. A wonderful venue!
